Hans Van De Meer

Amazing photographer that I have previously been recommended to research is Hans Van De Meer, a Dutch photographer who started his official project that has been exhibited in about 1984. ‘European Fields’ project is the one that I am focusing in this research. He’s another artist with not just great skills but a great idea, the ‘European Fields’ project is definitely something that I need in my research, a little bit of my homeland, every time I look at De Meer’s photographs I can very much relate myself to them, some of them do really look like my hometown. What has caught my interests the most is the fact that even though he is photographing football fields and footballers the main space in those pictures is the place where the picture has been taken. Every single images of his shows different places in Europe which is fascinating to think about where it is. Here again the images build up a small confusion as even though the artist focuses on the background more than anything else, the footballers and the fields are still a big space on that image. It is kind of confusing but at the same time very simple.

On the bottom again I have shown three images of his which I liked the most and would like to focus my interests on. I wanted to chose them carefully and make sure they are all significantly different. The first one looks a little bit like the UK, the next is some hot country and the last one which is the most important to me looks like Poland which I am not sure about but that are only my thoughts.
