Steve McCurry

Steve McCurry is a photographer that I followed for the last couple of years, his amazingly strong portraiture photography has inspired me to work with strong face features and always make visible details. After researching Pieter Hugo and getting ideas for my first photoshoot I decided to go into McCurry as he does a documentary photography which is what I was initially interested in. For my final outcomes my task is to make it a National Geographic page spread or an gallery exhibition, McCurry has had a few of his photos in the National Geographic magazine which I wanted to work on at first but now I am thinking that it will be a better idea to make a gallery exhibition which will suit my work a lot more as it is documentary but also focused on the artistic photography and not documenting only. For my photoshoot I decided to do something like McCurry does and focus my photography on portraits and people living and working in the waste environment more than the waste itself. I am very interested in the portraiture photography and I think this is the best project that I could focus my interests on.

There are a couple of images by Steve McCurry on the bottom of this page that has really pushed my idea forward.
