William Eggleston

William Eggleston is an American photographer who I came across in my previous photography researches. Eggleston doesn’t exactly focus on household surroundings but I felt like he should be included for my Domestic research. My first point, which is not very related, is the style of his photographs, apart from the fact that they are vintage looking which I love, he takes his shots very carefully, he makes it a section. His images look like they are a cropped version of a bigger picture, it makes me want to see more, what’s around it? It feels like there is a bigger story behind it than we originally think. This is what I want to do for my domestic photoshoot, I want to take macro shots  of a section of something bigger, what makes viewers interested, it makes them look more into it and question themselves which is exactly what’s happening to me when I look at Eggleston’s photography. Another thing I also really love about his images is the colours, they are so vibrant and contrasted from other colours it makes me want to stare. I am a fan of black and white photography originally but very strong colours are eye catching.

There are a few images of Eggleston’s shoots.
